Dates of Employment: Tuesday, May 27, 2025 – Friday, August 8, 2025. A total of 54 days. Monday through Friday. Group Leaders will not work on Friday, July 4, but will be paid for that day. 

Open Positions: We have two positions open, one for eight hours daily and the other for six hours daily. If the applicant is a teacher or para-professional and has to report to work prior to August 8, we will work with them to allow them to end early in order to meet their contractual agreement.

Job Description:  The Group Leader serves as a key team member of First Lutheran Church, reporting directly to the Caring for Kids 1st Director and Board of Directors. This role involves fostering a collaborative working relationship with the Director and other Caring for Kids 1st employees to create a supportive and effective environment. The position requires supervising groups of up to 15 children from kindergarten through 5th grade, carrying out daily activities that promote learning, engagement, and fun. The Childcare Staff Member develops positive, supportive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, actively listening to their needs and exploring constructive solutions. Through clear and encouraging communication, they help maintain a nurturing and responsive childcare setting. 

Qualifications: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have a minimum of three months of experience working with or supervising children.They must have the ability to work well with school-age children and to communicate clearly with children and their colleagues.

Total Summer Pay:  $6,900 for the 8-hour position and $5,175 for the 6-hour position 

Number of Students in the Childcare: Caring For Kids 1st is licensed for up to 30 elementary school-aged children. This means the children will have finished kindergarten and be going into first, second, third, fourth, fifth or sixth grades.

Number of Employees: We have a full-time Director/Group Leader (8 hours per day), two Childcare Group Leaders (8 hours per day) and an additional Childcare Group Leader (6 hours per day).
